Favorite part of being part of The REC’d team:
The creativity and energy. Every day feels different, and everyone genuinely cares about what we’re building together. It’s fun, fast-paced, community-focused, and honestly feels more like family than work most days.
How long in North Carolina?
I’ve been in North Carolina for several years now, and it completely feels like home.
What’s a “hidden gem” you think most people miss?
The Carolina Thread Trails near our REC Dispensary locations. A lot of people don’t realize how many beautiful walking trails and outdoor spots are tucked right into the area.
What is your favorite 'spot' in town to relax or spend a day off?
Honestly, taking my boxer Pax out to Little Mountain Park or the trails around Stumpy Creek Park is one of my favorite ways to recharge. Afterward, grabbing food at Neighbors 828 or Waterside Bar & Grill makes for a perfect day.
What’s surprised you the most about living in North Carolina?
How much there is to do outdoors. You can spend the morning hiking, the afternoon on the lake, and still end the night with live music and great food.
What I wish more people knew about North Carolina?
That the small towns are where all the personality is. The local restaurants, parks, shops, and people are what make North Carolina special.
Where is the best place to watch a sunset/sunrise, or take a great photo?
The lake views around Stumpy Creek Park are hard to beat at sunset, especially in the summer.
If you had 36 hours to show someone the best of this town, what would you do?
We’d start with breakfast, hit the trails with Pax at Little Mountain Park, then spend the afternoon exploring local spots and shops. Dinner would definitely be Neighbors 828 in Sherrills Ford or Jim & Nick's BBQ in Hickory. The next day would include relaxing on the lake, catching sunset views and enjoying the NC vibe.
